Mike graduated from Ohio State University in 2000 with a B.S. in Sport Performance and Coaching. He received his Master’s Degree the following year in Sport and Exercise Education. In 2004, he became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He also has his International Youth Conditioning Association Certification in Speed and Agility.
After graduation from Ohio State, Mike became a physical education teacher in the Columbus Public Elementary schools system. While teaching he also coached 6th grade basketball and worked with the G2 basketball camps. From 2004 to 2005, Mike was the Strength and Conditioning coach for Team Players Olympic Tae Kwon Do and remains a consultant and adviser to the team.
In 2002, Mike created Soar Fitness Systems. At Soar, Mike has trained hundreds of youth and high school athletes as well as prospective college and pro athletes. Mike trains top athletes who receive All District or All State Honors, many who go on to receive Division I scholarships.
In 2006, Mike was selected by Scout Camp Regional Combines (later re-named Elite) to direct their Columbus, OH location. In 2009, he was promoted to National Field Supervisor by Elite and began assisting at other combine locations. In 2011, after Elite was acquired by the NFL, Mike was promoted to Senior National Field Supervisor. In 2018, Mike became Sr. National Director and Columbus Regional Director for American National Combines (formerly Elite Football Services).
